New Evidence Shows Sheriff Pusser killed his wife

Image
Authorities say the case file reveals inconsistences in Buford Pusser’s account of what happened the day Pauline was murdered. TBI says evidence suggests Pauline was shot outside of the vehicle and later moved inside the vehicle. Evidence also suggests the gunshot wound Bufford received was self-inflicted. It was said that if Buford was alive today, there would be probable cause to charge him in connection to the shooting. This investigation is predicated on a request from the Honorable W. I. Abernathy, District Attorney General, 13th Judicial Circuit to conduct a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the facts and circumstances surrounding the murder of PAULINE PUSSER and the shooting of McNairy County Sheriff Buford Pusser, which occurred on the New Hope Road in IcNairy County, Tennessee on the early morning of August 12, 1967. BUFORD PUSSER, Sheriff, McNairy County, Scott Drive, Adamsville, Tenn., telephone no. 632-6190, advised that on Friday night, August 11, 1967, he was on du...

Levees Sinking 20 years after Katrina

Image
It has been 20 years since Hurricane Katrina ripped through the lower U.S. and broke the levees in New Orleans flooding the city. I have seen the devastating impact that the floods had on the city. I also visited five years later and saw the city still in recovery. Now we are being told the levees that were put in 20 years ago are sinking. The floods took 2,000 lives and cost the city $150 billion in damages. After 20 years these levees are sinking causing a threat to damage the city once again if not corrected.

Trooper Zahn is an lying disgrace to the Tennessee Highway Patrol

Image
THP’s Trooper Zahn is falsely accusing drivers of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. This trooper should not be on the street and his authority ripped from him and he should be arrested for falsifying documents, evidence and false arrest. U.S. Attorney Jane Bondurant had been arrested by Zahn. Bondurant was arrested last November in Franklin after getting into a fender bender with a Franklin police officer. The arrest report indicates Trooper Zahn was called in, and he wrote that Bondurant had bloodshot watery eyes and appeared to be impaired. “Keep in mind, I’m 71 years old, I’ve been in a wreck,” Bondurant said. “I felt like I was doing really well (on the field sobriety test), and I felt like my friend with me felt the same way.” I think she was so shocked that I’d even been arrested and that I was even doing it,” Bondurant said. Bondurant, who served as a U.S. attorney in Louisville, said that after her arrest, she was handcuffed to a wall in the jail. “S...

Two Tennessee Gun laws deamed unconstitutional

Image
On Friday, Aug. 22, a panel of three judges in Gibson County Chancery Court declared two Tennessee gun laws unconstitutional. “ I’m excited for what this means for the citizens of Tennessee,” Tennessee State Rep. Chris Todd (R-Jackson) said. The first law now considered unconstitutional is the parks statute, which bans people from carrying a gun in public parks. The second law makes it illegal to carry a gun with the “intent to go armed.” “That statute being struck down means that an officer no longer has the lawful authority to stop someone if they see them on their own property or out in public possessing a firearm because it’s simply not a crime,” Tennessee Firearms Association Executive Director John Harris explained. Pro-gun advocates felt the two laws violated the 2nd Amendment, and believe this is a win for gun owners in Tennessee. According to Harris, who is also an attorney, the state has 30 days to appeal the court ruling. In the meantime, some Democrats have expressed concer...

Tennessee life sentence now 40 years

Image
A man in a Tennessee prison has won his lawsuit at the Tennessee Court of Appeals, which on Aug. 15 ruled that certain inmates can shave time off the end of  so-called life sentences  with good behavior. Life sentences in Tennessee could be as short as about 40 years for some, the judges wrote. The ruling applies to those sentenced to life for crimes committed before July 1, 1995, or for crimes committed as a juvenile, according to the inmate's attorney. The panel of judges Frank G. Clement Jr., D. Michael Swiney and Andy D. Bennett unanimously sided with incarcerated man Howard Aktins after argument on July 8. David Esquivel, attorney for Atkins, said if the ruling stands, it means dozens or hundreds of people sentenced to life should have already been released from state custody. The Tennessee Department of Correction, which Atkins sued in 2022, could still appeal the ruling to the Tennessee Supreme Court. The Tennessee Attorney General's Office, which represents the departm...

However, as of now, no official legislation has been enacted, and if approved, payments may not be distributed until late 2025 or early 2026.
